We are seeking a Ph.D. student in discipline-based education research (DBER) to support an NSF-funded research project. This research aims to characterize teaching practices in undergraduate biology courses and to understand how different teaching strategies relate to student development of quantitative modeling skills. This project will provide opportunities for the graduate student to gain specific experience in theory-driven research, measurement of teaching practices, undergraduate assessment, and multivariate statistics.
Competitive applicants will have a strong background in biology, mathematical biology, and/or biology education. We have flexibility for graduate students to matriculate on a rolling basis, starting as early as Jan 2021.
