Responsibilities: The Department of Biology at Mercer University seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology to begin in the 2022-2023 academic year. Duties will consist of teaching 5-6 undergraduate courses per academic year that may include introductory biology, neurobiology, animal physiology, developmental biology, or some specialty that is complementary to our department’s current offerings. This is a one-year visiting appointment with the possibility of renewal.

Qualifications: The candidate must have a doctoral degree in a biological science from an accredited college/university or have ABD status. A candidate with ABD status would be considered at the Instructor rank until the PhD has been completed. Applicants should demonstrate a track record of excellence in teaching and advising and the potential for scholarly activity in the context of a liberal arts college.
