The Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning at Yale University seeks to fill a key leadership position to oversee educational development programs and services for all Yale faculty. Reporting to the Executive Director of the Yale Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning, the Director of Faculty Teaching Initiatives will work with the Executive Director to strategically create and lead faculty development programs across the University. The Director will lead the implementation of high-impact, research-supported educational development activities and be responsible for advancing new initiatives, within the Center and within specific academic units, as requested. The Director will also research and develop curriculum for new and developing programming; attend faculty consultations, and represent the Executive Director at Poorvu Center functions as needed.
More generally, the Director will contribute to the advancement of the Poorvu Center mission, focusing on key tenets such as: developing student learning as it relates to teaching excellence, prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion, and building a culture of assessment at Yale. The Director will serve as the key liaison for school and department-based teaching and learning projects. The Director will work to promote teaching excellence and equity across the University and build communities that advance teaching and learning at Yale. As part of a comprehensive teaching and learning center, the Director will also contribute expertise and advance new and continuing initiatives through collaboration with other Poorvu Center units, schools, and departments across the University.
