The Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine, EnMed Program in Houston, TX https://enmed.tamu.edu/ invites applications for a full-time state supported, Non-tenure, Educator Track faculty position with responsibilities teaching the Anatomical Sciences of Gross Anatomy, Histology, and/or Neuroanatomy at the Instructional Assistant Professor, Instructional Associate Professor, or Instructional Professor level. The expected start date is early summer of 2019. Opportunities to teach in a whole body dissection based Gross Anatomy course, a slide based Histology course integrated with Physiology, and a functional Neuroscience course are available. Prospective candidates must have a strong commitment to excellence in education and must demonstrate willingness to contribute to interdisciplinary medical instruction in large group, small group and laboratory settings. The department is particularly interested in candidates who aspire to become a long-term member of a very stable medical school teaching faculty group. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
EnMed is Texas A&M University's innovative engineering medicine option at Houston Methodist Hospital, developed to educate a new kind of physician who will create transformational technology for health care. EnMed is a unique partnership between the Texas A&M College of Medicine's MD program, the College of Engineering, and Houston Methodist Hospital. EnMed will be an integrated educational and research degree option with a focus on innovation and entrepreneurship. This new type of medical education will prepare professionals with the clinical skills to diagnose symptoms and treat patients, along with the engineering mindset to solve problems, invent new technologies and rapidly move these innovative ideas to practice in patient care.
