The Department of Oral Biology is searching for Molecular Biologist for 1 faculty position at the rank of Professor on tenure track. The Department is an integral member of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and as such has access to highly qualified PhD students.
Qualified candidates should have a PhD in Biology or a related field. A track record of funding from NIH, NSF or comparable institutes is required. Applicants working in the area of molecular biology related to genetics and/or genomics of oral microbes or host susceptibility agents, and who have publications in the area of Oral Biology will be given preference and are encouranged to apply. Applicants should also have a record of student training.
In this role, the applicant will develop and supervise scientific projects and establish research initiatives designed to place the department in a position of national prominence. The applicant will also collaborate in discoveries that will enhance the understanding of bacterial pathogenesis and/or host susceptibility to oral disease. The applicant be expected to: develop an innovative, internationally competitive research program, supported by external funding; participate in training PhD students: contribute to the Department’s graduate and undergraduate research and teaching programs.
