The Department of Biology at Tufts University seeks a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty member beginning September 1st, 2019. The lecturer’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, organizing and teaching the lecture portion of an introductory course (Bio 13 – Cells and Organisms) which focuses on general biological principles and widely used methods related to current advances in cell and molecular biology, and genetics. In addition, the candidate will be expected to teach an intermediate lecture level course in cell biology (Bio 46) and one other course to be determined.

Qualified candidates must have a PhD and show evidence of successful teaching in introductory and intermediate biology courses. Commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching is required, and the successful candidate must demonstrate experience or interest in evidence- based STEM pedagogy – especially aimed at enhancing retention of underrepresented students in introductory biology courses. This is an academic year, benefited 2-year position and is renewable contingent upon performance.
