The Yale Young Global Scholars Program (YYGS) is now hiring a full-time STEM Program Manager. YYGS an academic enrichment and student leadership program administered by the Office of International Affairs. Each year, YYGS offers 11 sessions on Yale’s campus and in five different countries and enrolls 2,000 talented high school students from 100+ countries.
Reporting to the Director of YYGS, the STEM Program Manager serves a key leadership role in the development of YYGS and is responsible for a range of activities including:
Develop, oversee, and implement flagship academic and leadership programs on Yale’s campus.
Design curriculum and coordinate logistics for at least three STEM-oriented sessions.
Recruit, hire, and manage instructional staff.
Read YYGS applications and manage a team of application readers.
Administer program registration process.
Track program expenditures.
Work with the YYGS leadership team on the development of programs and activities that broadcast Yale’s expertise in STEM scholarship.
Maintain a critical leadership role during nine summer sessions in New Haven.
Teach and mentor students in the Yale Young Global Scholars Program.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to interact with a range of individuals including high school and college-age students, parents, faculty members and staff on a wide variety of academic and professionally-related issues.
Demonstrated flexibility and agility to adapt to changing work demands and balance many projects in a high-pressure environment. Excellent organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proven ability with and/or demonstrated comfort level teaching and working with high school-age audiences.
Demonstrated commitment to pedagogical development in undergraduate and graduate students; familiarity with Yale University’s expertise in the STEM fields.
Preferred experience:
Advanced degree in a STEM field relevant to the academic content of YYGS
Experience with enrichment programs, such as Yale Young Global Scholars Program
